I suppose most of you think that the reason I call myself "Malin Z" online is because I don't want to use my full last name, or because on lookbook they mostly just show the initial of your last name. That is however not the case. I've been calling myself Malin Z for as long as I can remember. Even when I was in elementary school. There wasn't any other Malin in my class or anything at the time (there was in middle school, though), but I simply liked the letter Z. And in Sweden Malin is a quite common and basic name, so with the Z, I thought it sounded a bit more exotic. And now it's become quite fitting to use it as my "stage name". Besides, my full name is pretty unpronounceable unless you speak Swedish, and hard to spell, so it would be kinda pointless to use it anyway. The more you know!

Been living in variations of this outfit for the past week because I don't want to wear anything other than this tee at the moment. And also I find it's nice to wear something with a hood while I'm still trying to get the hang of how to style my new haircut. So when I feel self-conscious about it I can put it on (don't get me wrong though, I do love it, I just haven't figured out which products that works for me).

So this is what's going on with my hair at the moment. It's not at all what I had in mind when I started, and I kinda fucked up when bleaching it (haha not even sorry 'bout it), but it turned out pretty great in the end. I do like my hair this length, because I think it complements my facial structure better than when it's longer, and you can see my neck tattoo.
The thing is, I like the idea of long hair in theory, but for me, in reality, it's too much of an effort. Really, I like for my hair and make-up routine to be as effortless as possible. I have very straight and heavy hair, so when it's short it falls very nicely on it's own, I don't need to flatten it or anything, unless I'm going for something specific. Which in turn would be a whole different scenario, I like dolling myself up on occasion as much as the next person. But I like to be able to look edgy without having to actually do anything. I mean, it's bad enough that I basically have to draw on my eyebrows.

Tees from Beyond Retro, Harley Davidson top from tradera.
Black vintage tees with weird/random prints has been my favorite thing to wear for months now. The more worn they are the better. Beyond Retro in my town has a great supply of it, and since it's an outlet store where basically everything is always on sale, you can get it really cheap as well.
Here's a thing I'm not sure if I've said before; I collect "tourist t-shirts" from places I haven't been. It's kinda like that thing when wannabe-hipster kids wear band t-shirts of bands they barely know, but with countries and cities. When my sisters or parents go abroad to cool places I always have them buy me a shirt. For example my sister got one from the Great Wall of China and Baku, and my dad got one from Atlanta. And also when vintage shopping it's a nice plus if the black tee I get has a print from a random place I haven't been. Like Minnesota.

Pics from a while back. I wasn't gonna post them, because reasons, but now I'm doing it anyway. I'm "redoing" my hair atm, so in the meanwhile I'm not exactly motivated in taking pictures of myself. But hopefully it'll be the way I want by the end of the weekend!

Found some old pictures of my friendsies and I from back in the days. I was fifteen and Wapanese was the thing to be if you were an alternative white girl (that or emo). Though I have to admit I was pretty bad at it, commitment wise. I enjoyed the fashion and I read some manga (and still do to some degree), but that was pretty much it. Because this was before I found my true love in science-fiction TV-shows. Before I had even seen the X-Files. Hah. Good times (not really). No, but seriously, it was pretty good. Carefree. My biggest problem was how I was going to afford as much clothes as possible on the little pocket money that I got each month. Funny that, because this was the time in my life when my friends and I were bullied. But to be honest it never bothered me all that much. I was not the way I was, and dressed the way I did for provocation, so mostly I just ignored the attention when I got it. And really, though, who is the one with 15,000 lookbook fans now? That's more people than there is living in the village I went to school in and the one I in live combined. I stayed true to myself and, as follows, success is the best revenge.

I said I'd do a house tour like a year ago, and better late than never. This is my living room, kitchen and bedroom. I've been living in my flat for three years now, and that's about the time it has taken me to fill this place up with furniture that I actually like and that's not just stuff from my old bedroom. Contrary to my way of dressing I like lots of bright colors when decorating. I like it a bit cluttery, it feels more homey. Also I'm kind of a hoarder. My favorite color for interior design in turquoise/petrol. I'm especially fond of wood painted turquoise.
And in the seventh photo you can see the sun terrace that's above our garages, where I take my outfit pictures (photo taken out of the balcony door that you see in those pictures, and from inside in the third picture)! I live alone in this house, but my family lives across the garden (we have two houses on our lot, it's not as fancy as it sounds, it just means that we have a tiny garden and lots of storage space).
